Getting a Bachelor’s pass will allow you to choose from a variety of Bachelor’s Degree courses at different universities.
Note that some Bachelor’s Degree courses do require higher passes and specific subjects, so be sure to check with the university you are applying to for any additional requirements above that of a Bachelor’s pass for the course you would like to apply for.

What Is Higher Than A Bachelor's Pass?
There is no passing level higher than a Bachelor’s pass. A Bachelor’s pass can also be known as “Passed with exemption”. This is the highest passing level that you can achieve at the end of Matric.
What Are The Different Pass Levels In Matric?
There are four different passing levels in Matric, and they are:
- Bachelor’s pass
- Diploma pass
- Higher Certificate pass
- NSC pass/Matric pass
Each passing level has its own requirements. The Bachelor’s pass is the highest passing level, and so the most difficult to achieve. The Matric pass is the lowest passing level, and is the easiest to achieve.
The Matric pass is also the minimum requirement to pass Matric. If you do not meet the requirements for a Matric pass, you will not pass Matric.

A Bachelor’s pass in Matric will allow you to apply to universities to study for a Bachelor’s Degree.
What Is Needed For A Bachelor's Pass?
The requirements for each of the four passing levels is as follows:

Note that these are only the minimum requirements. Achieving these requirements does not guarantee your admission into any university courses. This is because some universities may have additional requirements, and certain courses may have specific subject requirements, or require a higher APS.

What Is APS?
APS stands for Admission Points Score. This is based on your Matric final marks, and determines what course level you are eligible to apply to study after Matric.
Your marks are separated into percentage brackets with an allocated number of points. You can add these points to find your APS. The point allocation is as follows:

There are many things you can do with a Bachelor’s pass. If you would like to study a Bachelor’s Degree, you can check with the university you are applying to about any further requirements.
If you do not meet the requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree course, you can start with a Diploma and work your way up to a Bachelor’s Degree.
Is A Bachelor's Degree Pass Higher Than A Diploma Pass?
Yes, a Bachelor’s Degree pass is higher than a Diploma pass. The APS requirement for a Bachelor’s Degree pass is 23, and it is the highest passing level you can achieve at the end of Matric. A Diploma pass is the second-highest passing level and requires an APS of 19.
What Is The Difference Between Bachelor's Pass And Bachelor's Degree?
A Bachelor’s pass is the passing level you can achieve at the end of Matric, which will allow you to apply to study for a Bachelor’s Degree at university.
A Bachelor’s Degree is a university qualification that you can receive after successfully completing your four years of studying at the university. Note that four years is the minimum amount of time to complete a Bachelor’s Degree, but it can take longer to complete.
Can You Go To University With A Diploma Pass?
Yes, you can go to university with a Diploma pass. A Diploma pass will allow you to apply to study for a Diploma. Universities also offer Diploma courses, and some offer Higher Certificate courses as well.
This means you can also go to university with a Higher Certificate pass, depending on the university. You can apply to universities with a Higher Certificate pass if the university offers Higher Certificate courses. Many universities do not offer Higher Certificate qualifications.
The only pass level that will not allow you to apply to study at a university is a Matric pass.
