No, you do not need to have Maths to study HR courses. The three courses offered at Skills Academy and Ember Academy have only two requirements:

An Employee Relations Manager is in charge of ensuring efficient communication among employees and between employees and employers. They are also responsible for maintaining good workplace morale. 

 

A Human Resources Administrator can be in charge of managing the company payroll, and can also be in charge of managing leave requests from employees. They are also sometimes responsible for the organisation of business trips for company staff members. 

 

A Human Resources Consultant is responsible for ensuring the company is operating within the labour laws. They may be tasked with reviewing company policies and making sure they stay up to date with any changes.

HR Courses With Matric

You can also study HR if you have your Matric but did not get into university. With your Matric, you can study a NATED HR course. The NATED HR course has three levels:

NATED courses are accredited by QCTO (the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations). This means that they are recognised as formal qualifications. NATED qualifications go up to the Diploma level. Each level takes one year to complete, followed by 18 months of work experience before you receive your qualification. 

It is important to note that you can no longer apply to this course with a Matric Equivalent qualification. All NATED courses now require you to have Matric to apply.

What Have We Learned?

You can study HR without Matric. Each course has a different duration. The shortest is four months, the middle is eight months, and the longest course is 12 months. There are also HR courses available if you have your Matric but did not get into university.
