We’ve always heard about students complaining about the cost of their UNISA textbooks and we don’t blame them. When you are already paying a premium for your module, you don’t need the extra stress of paying an arm and a leg for your textbooks.
Stop worrying! You can find and download the ebook version of your UNISA textbook using the 10 easy steps below! 🙂
Step 1
Visit my.unisa.ac.za, scroll down and click on Books in the left menu titled Important Links.

Now click on Prescribed Books in the menu on the right.
Step 2
Enter your Study Unit Codes in the 1st area indicated below and then click on the Display button.
Step 3
Copy either the Title or the Author.
Step 4
Open http://encore.unisa.ac.za/iii/encore/?lang=eng in a new tab.
Step 5
Search for your prescribed UNISA textbook by the Author or Title you just copied. If you feel like it you can use the Advanced Search option
Step 6
Once you have searched and you get some results, click on the EBook option under Format in the Refine by: menu to the left. Here, you will only find digital copies of a textbook.
Step 7
Click on the text View full-text e-book at EBSCOhost. EBSCOhost is an online research platform that is used by thousands of institutions all around the world. It contains a wide range of databases, eBooks, and e-journals for students and lecturers alike to consume. It’s essentially a digital library.
Step 8
Fill in your Student Number and myUNISA Password then click the LOGIN button.
Step 9
Click on PDF Full Text to the right.
Step 10
Ta-Da! You are now able to view your textbook online instead of spending more of your hard earned money!
