There are many ICB registration articles and web pages out there telling you what you can register for. This article will touch on that topic but we’re going to be looking mainly at how you can register for an ICB course as well as why it is a good idea.
ICB Courses You Can Study
The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (or ICB for short) has no less than 16 different courses you can study. With so many options, how do you know which are the right ones for you? Luckily, the ICB has divided their courses into three different study programmes.
These are Office Administration, Financial Accounting, and Business Management. The study programmes each have three courses to study. Financial Accounting is the only course that has four courses and not three.
ICB Registration Methods
You might be surprised to find out that there is more than one way to register for ICB courses. You can use the most common method which is going through a training provider, or you can even register online.
Using a Training Provider
Most people choose to use this option. There are a few reasons for this such as:
- People don’t know about any other way.
- There is someone who can help you.
- You can ask questions and get answers.
- You need to do less admin.
- The provider takes care of almost everything.
These reasons make using a training provider very attractive. However, there are downsides to using a training provider. Using a training provider often costs a bit more than other options. There are also some things that a training provider don’t cover with your fees.
As an example, many training providers don’t include your exam fees. This means that you will need to pay for them yourself. Unexpected costs like that can come as a surprise. You should always make sure you understand what is covered by the fees you pay to your training provider.
Registering Online
Not many people realise that you can register to be an ICB student online. If you go to the ICB Learner Portal you are immediately asked to log in. You can, however, click on the “Register” button at the top of the panel. This will take you to a series of pages where you need to fill in your personal information. At the end of it, you will be a registered ICB student.
The disadvantage to this is that you don’t have anyone to ask questions to while you register. What makes this such a good option is that not only is it quick, but you can register for courses, register for your ICB exams, check your results, and even make payments yourself. This lets you manage your studies more effectively as you will know everything that is happening.
Why Register for an ICB Course?
The biggest reason is that you will receive an internationally recognised qualification after each course. That means that if you study one of their programmes you will have at least three qualifications behind your name by the time you finish. These courses are also designed to not take a long time but still giving you a high-quality education.
What Does it all Mean?
Simply put, there are so many great things about studying an ICB course and your ICB registration process is so simple that there is no reason for you to be scared. Have a look at the available ICB courses on offer and sign up for one today!
