What Are NATED Courses

National Accredited Technical Education Diploma (NATED) courses are designed by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). These courses provide students with both practical and theoretical knowledge. 

 

Are NATED Courses Accredited?

Yes, NATED courses are accredited by The Quality Council of Trades and Occupation or the QCTO.

 

The Duration Of A NATED Course?

The course as a whole takes between 1-3 years to complete depending on how quickly you can submit assignments and apply for examinations. 

 

NATED Courses have 2 parts, one is theoretical and the other practical. 

 

The theoretical part is 18 months of assignments and tests. Once you have completed all of the levels, you must complete 18 months of work experience before receiving your NATED Diploma.

 

NQF Levels Courses

There are three main NQF courses:

 

  • N4: National Certificate
  • N5: National Certificate
  • N6: National Certificate

NQF 4: National Certificate

Certificate Type: N4: National Certificate
Duration: 12 months
Entry Requirements: Matric Certificate or Equivalent

NQF 5 National Certificate

Certificate Type: N5: National Certificate 
Duration: 12 months 
Entry Requirements: National Certificate: N4 

N6 National Certificate

Certificate Type: N6: National Certificate
Duration: 12 months 
Entry Requirements: National Certificate: N5 

Practical Experience

With each course in the programme, you are required to complete practical work of 6 months to receive your certificate.
