It is important to note that UNISA has phased out the “Baccalaureus Technologiae” qualifications. These qualifications have been replaced by Advanced Diplomas.
What Are The Minimum Requirements For Admission To A Bachelor's Degree?
The general minimum requirement for a Bachelor’s Degree is that you have achieved a Bachelor’s Degree pass, with an APS of 23. However, many courses may require a higher APS, and may have specific subject requirements.
Make sure you check the specific requirements for the Degree course you are interested in.
Also note that other universities may also have different requirements. If you are applying to other universities as well, check their requirements as well.

How Long Is A BA Degree At UNISA?
A Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) will take a minimum of three years to complete. You may take longer, and it can take up to eight years to complete a BA, depending on many factors, such as whether you study full-time or part-time.
However, note that this only applies to Bachelor of Arts Degrees. Other Bachelor’s Degrees will take a minimum of four years to complete, and you may take up to ten years to complete your Bachelor’s Degree.
How Many Credits Is A Degree UNISA?
This depends on whether you are studying for a Bachelor’s Degree or a Bachelor of Arts Degree.
A Bachelor’s Degree is a 480-credit qualification. This consists of 40 modules, each worth 12 credits.
A Bachelor of Arts Degree is a 360-credit qualification. This consists of 30 modules, each worth 12 credits.
When Will Applications For Bachelor’s Degree Courses For 2023 Open At UNISA?
All Bachelor’s Degree courses at UNISA will still be open for 2023. UNISA has not yet opened their applications for the 2023 academic year. Application dates for UNISA for the 2023 academic year are as follows:
- Undergraduate qualifications (Higher Certificates, Advanced Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, PGCEs, B.Tech, and Degrees): 01 September – 14 October 2022
- Honour’s Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas: 01 September – 14 October 2022
- Master’s Degrees and Doctoral Degrees: 11 September – 14 November 2022
